For my eighteen birthday I wanted to get a tattoo. So I when to this random guy to get my first tattoo. After seeing how he was preparing to do my tattoo, I thought to myself, “if this guy can do it, I can also do it”. After getting my tattoo I did some research and I purchase my first tattoo machine with the necessary supplies to do some simple tattoos. And I started tattooing my friends, family members and myself. After making many horrible tattoos I knew I needed to look for an apprenticeship, it was hard but I found one. Rodrigo S. Jimenez and Robert Castillo from ADDICTIVE INK Astoria Queens NY were kind enough to teach me what they knew. These guys allow me to spend time at their shop and see how they work, after a few months of cleaning tubes and doing stuff around the shop I was allow to do simple tattoos at their shop. In 2009 I started working at body and soul tattoos in Jersey City, and I’ve been working here ever since.
