Yurgo Tass

Born to A Greek and A Russian, Polish Jew in 1973, Yurgo was raised in Sussex, NJ and graduated from High Point Regional High School. Wanting to pursue A career in art, he was accepted into the prestigious Joe Kubert School of cartoon and graphic art in 1991. After getting job offers from big comic book companies and scholarships, he graduated the three year program in 1994….He then went on to working for companies such as Mirage studios, Marvel, Defiant, Valiant, Topps, Nintendo and many more…..Frustrated with the way the commercial art and comic book biz was going…He decided to look for other means….Then the tattoo gods called, and yurgo never looked back. It was Nine Ball Freddy Fox that got our protagonist to become a Padawan Learner (apprentice, That’s right folks…he actually apprenticed under someone!) Unfortunately, Yurgo learned all of the wrong things and actually learned what not to do or how to be in the biz. So our hero looked for another way, enter the now defunct City Lights in Goshen, NY and the still operational The Shop in Port Jervis, NY. While working at both shops Yurgo learned speed and ingenuity and how to deal with the public……Rob Kraese and Guy Garrin were both great bosses but it was also time to move on after 6 years at City Lights and A year at The Shop, he was looking for more. Enter Tony Becker and Chris Chisholm at Skin City in New Windsor, NY. He was fortunate to have worked with both as well as Tom Wilkinson and several more at my tenure at Skin City…..He learned quite A bit more at Skin City, but alas it still wasn’t enough…..Then one day, the tattoo gods called on him again…..QUITE LITERALLY…..Living legend Larry Davis called upon Yurgo to come grace the legend with the GreekJews presence and talents……Ever since then our man has been working with one of tattooing greatest masters and hasn’t looked back……Yurgo has been doing tattoo work for many years, as well as all other major forms of art…..His schedule these days consists of tattoo conventions, starting A workshop to create tattoo machines as well as gunsmithing projects…..and so much more…..keep an eye out for the Greebrew, he might be coming to A town near you!!!
